CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte Fire crew was involved in a deadly crash while responding to a call Monday afternoon, Charlotte Fire Division Chief David Farnum Jr. said during a news conference.
At 5:36 p.m., Ladder 24 responded to a medical call in the 7700 block of Little Avenue.
Around 5:40 p.m., Farnum said the crew was involved in a wreck with a motorcycle while coming through the intersection of Pineville-Matthews Road and McMahon Drive.
“The crew of Ladder 24 immediately began treating the patient on scene,” Farnum said.
Medic transported the rider, who officials say later died from injuries.
