MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. — Michael Jordan appeared at North Carolina's Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament this week with a 24-pound dolphin in hand.
The Big Rock is a nonprofit fishing tournament and retail store. This is the tournament's 64th year.
“Michael Jordan brings the BULLS to big rock landing,” The Big Rock posted on Facebook Monday, which was the first day of the tournament.
"Excitement was in the AIR as Michael Jordan brought the bulls to Big Rock Landing," Big Rock organizers said.
Of the 266,246 boats fished, each taking a shot at the record-breaking $5,858,87 purse, the fleet racked up 47 released, organizers say.
Organizers say the nonprofit has donated over $7 million to local charities since 1986.
