What You Need To Know

A team of nine members fan out in downtown Greensboro and serve as ambassadors for the city

They assist in connecting with business owners, residents and unsheltered people working as liaisons

Raleigh and Charlotte have similar programs in place

The team of nine cover all of downtown Greensboro and is led by Operations Manager Shawn Eisenbach. They spend their days walking up the streets, connecting with others.

“One of my favorite parts of this job is just meeting all the great people here. Business owners, whether they are business owners, residents or the unsheltered. Great people here, great city,” Eisenbach said.

Eisenbach also detailed the other duties he and his team are responsible for.

"This job is deeper than holding a door open for someone or popping an umbrella open on a rainy day. You have to have compassion for everyone, and that includes people that are mentally ill or unsheltered,” he explained.

The Greensboro ambassadors work as liaisons between downtown business owners, visitors and the unsheltered community.

The hospitality services for downtown Greensboro are provided by Block by Block.

Raleigh and Charlotte also have similar programs.
