LAKE LURE, N.C. — The Dirty Dancing Festival is back in Lake Lure this year with hopes that attendees will have the time of their lives.

The festival is set for Sept. 10 at Keeter Field in Lake Lure, where the iconic “Dirty Dancing” film was shot. The movie was released 35 years ago.

Keeter Field is next door to the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray stayed during filming.

The festival will include music, dancing, selfie scene spots and the Lake Lift Competition.

"It's time to dress up as your favorite character, dust off your Keds, and really shake it down where Johnny & Baby once did the Mambo!" festival organizers say.

Vendors will be selling homemade items, and food trucks will offer food and beverage options.

Festival organizers say 2,500 tickets will be released this year. Tickets, which are $39 for those age 11 and up, and $15 for children age 4-10, can be purchased here.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. the day of the festival.
