CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jaime Moreno is the youngest of two brothers. Growing up in Mexico City, he had to play soccer by himself and also entertain himself by doing colorful play-by-play.

Jaime Moreno will be doing the play-by-play in Spanish for the team

Moreno's colorful broadcasting for the Carolina Panthers has gone viral, reaching over 2.2 million views

Moreno played both soccer and football in college before moving to the United States.

In 2010, Moreno was hired by the Carolina Panthers to do play-by-play in Spanish.

His passion in play-calling and entertaining calls shot him into the spotlight. Playoff wins posted to twitter and social media went viral, reaching 2.2 million views.

When the Queen City announced it was getting an MLS team, Moreno dreamed of doing the commentary for the games in Spanish.

"I didn't tell anyone I wanted it. I only said it in the shower, but I did want the job. But I also knew quite a few others who wanted the job, but I worked hard. I showed them that I wanted it," Moreno said.

Moreno says before his first Panthers game, he practiced and rehearsed at home every day for two years, an hour to two hours a day.

He practiced with a voice coach. He does vocal exercises and warmups.

But he says doing commentary for soccer is much different.

"In football you have time to rest in between plays, in soccer you keep going and going and going and going," Moreno said.

Moreno will be broadcasting the Charlotte FC game live Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
