RALEIGH, N.C. — U.S. Senator Thom Tillis secured more than $458 million to invest in North Carolina's airports over the next five years. Tillis made the announcement Thursday.
The funds are intended to improve infrastructure in major and regional airports across the state.
The money is coming from the Airport Infrastructure Grant included in the bipartisan infrastructure package supported by Tillis.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport will receive the highest yearly allocation total, at just over $43,000,000 followed by Raleigh-Durham International Airport at over $14,000,000.
Other N.C. representatives announced the funding.
