Ingram is a stand-out athlete and student

He volunteers on the weekends to feed people in need

Ingram is one of the captains of the varsity football team, and he's a running back and says football is his favorite sport. Ingram says the sport helped become the person he is today.

"Football to me means, it's where a boy becomes a man in high school really," Ingram explained.

He's won two state championships at East Forsyth, and he hopes to win another during his senior season.

Ingram adds the lessons he's learned from his coaches and teammates will help him be successful in life.

"The hustle, the grind and doing things when you don't feel like doing them but you know you have to in order to get to a better place in life," Ingram said.

East Forsyth head football coach Todd Willert says Ingram has been one of his favorite people to coach in his 30 years of working with student-athletes.

"Whenever I need help, I know I can count on him and you just root for a guy like that and you know someone who has done so much for our program over the last four years, he deserves something like this," Willert said.

As a result of his success, Ingram was chosen as Spectrum's High School Scholar of the Week and was presented this award by Rep. Evelyn Terry.

Ingram gathered with his teammates, coaches, teachers and family members to celebrate his award.

Ingram is a busy student because in addition to his high school workload, he takes courses at Forsyth Technical Community College to get college credits. He hopes to go to N.C. A&T or UNCG next year.

Ingram also volunteers his time on weekends and helps feed people in need.

"One of the things I value is helping people. Just having a good heart," Ingram said.
