RALEIGH, N.C. — An 11-year-old North Carolina rapper is spreading a positive message.
Briana Bowling has garnered over 13,000 views on YouTube for her positive raps, even catching the attention of HLN's Morning Express.
Her most recent rap is called "Brown Skin Girls," inspired by Beyonce's hit song, "Brown Skin Girl." Bowling says her goal is to help young girls feel comfortable in their skin
“Honestly, like you’re perfect the way you look," Bowling said. "And you don’t have to change the way you are for someone else. And you should feel comfortable the way you are.”
Bowling's also working to create a safe space for preteens. In August, she plans to release an app called Uplift, which is designed to ping certain negative words to prevent online bullying.
