GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Months after getting COVID-19, a Gaston County 12-year-old continues to suffer.

Wednesday Lynch tested positive for the virus in September.

While symptoms were relatively minor, the problems didn't go away, and they only got worse. Six months later there's been no change.

While she's tested negative, she has exhaustion, headaches, and what's known as brain fog. Her mom, Melissa, says she has to repeatedly wake up Wednesday before school and during the day she also suffers with tiredness.

“It's exhausting for her, and she just wants to be back to normal,” says Wednesday's mom Melissa Lynch.

Wednesday Lynch continues to see many doctors as they try and figure out how to stop some of the symptoms of COVID-19. Melissa Lynch works with a Facebook group called the Survivor Corps. It's a group of long-haulers around the country who have formed a community.

Survivor Corps NC is holding a Blood and Plasma Drive on Saturday, April 3 at the Barnyard Flea Markets in Dallas, N.C.
