WILSON, N.C. – A wedding photo shoot in North Carolina went viral over social media, receiving over 30,000 likes.
Traditionally, a first-look photo shoot is when a groom sees his bride in her wedding dress for the first time. But Bethany Boykin decided to share this special moment with her grandmother, Dot Beaman, better known as "Honey."
Boykin was getting married in November, but after her grandmother had a stroke in July, she knew that time may be running out so she quickly set up a photo shoot to make sure Honey could see her in her wedding dress.
“In that moment, I didn't realize how real these photos would be for me looking back on that day and just how much emotion that these pictures truly hold,” Boykin explains.
Fortunately, this moment was captured just eight days before Honey passed away and four months before Boykin and her husband Blake tied the knot.
She says she'll always have this special photo book to look back at those lasting memories.
