CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Several groups across North Carolina are making sure voters have a ride to the polls.

CHARLOTTE: NACA

The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of American, NACA, has 50 vans in Charlotte ready to pick up voters on Tuesday.

“We will be all out, hitting the roads and getting everyone to the polls,” NACA National Director Erick Exum says. “We have already helped thousands get to the polls for early voting and we plan to help thousands more.”

The group will pick up anyone who needs a ride.

“We have full PPE equipment, we have temperature monitoring and masks,” Exum says. “We also have hand sanitizer.”

CHARLOTTE: A.E. Grier & Sons Funeral

The National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association says several funeral homes will also provide rides across the country. A.E. Grier and Sons Funeral is one of them.

“We have partnered with a few churches,” A.E. Grier & Sons Funeral Co-owner Allen Grier says. “We will provide limousine services for the elderly and people with no transportation.”

NORTH CAROLINA: Public Transportation

Public transit in several cities across North Carolina, including Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, Asheville, and Durham, will not charge a fee on election day.

NORTH CAROLINA: Riding-sharing services

Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are offering discounts for voters. Lyft is offering 50% off one ride up to $10 to any polling location or dropbox using the code "2020VOTE".

Uber is offering 50% off roundtrip rides to and from polls (up to $7 each trip), or up to $14 for the two trips. It also applies on bikes and scooters. Uber also has an in-app poll finding feature for riders.
