CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has announced it will begin matching rewards leading to arrests in violent crimes.

  • CMPD is now matching all rewards that lead to arrests in violent crime cases.

  • They will match up to $2,000.

  • This comes after an uptick in violent crime.

The department made the announcement after a recent uptick in violent crime in the Charlotte area.

Rewards up to $2,000 will be matched for information leading to arrests in cases which involve homicides, sexual assaults, aggravated assaults, and armed robberies.
