NORTH CAROLINA – If you needed any further evidence of North Carolina’s prominence in the presidential race, just look at your TV today. The Joe Biden campaign released four new ads Wednesday, and two of them are here in North Carolina.

The ads focus on small business owners in battleground states including Arizona, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. Both ads in North Carolina are a minute long.

The first titled “Kimberly” is about a Rocky Mount woman who started a soap company. After the virus took hold she converted the business to make hand sanitizer.  In the ad, Kimberly talks about her concerns for paying bills and feeding her family and why she believes Joe Biden would help the economy recover.

The second ad titled “Celeste” features another Rocky Mount woman, Celeste Beatty, who owns a brewery. In the ad, she says she lost about 70% of her business and did not receive the loan she needed as she watched big businesses receive loans.

The Biden campaign says it’s on the air with ads in 13 states.

A report released last week with data by ad-tracker Advertising Analytics shows more than $700 million booked in 14 states. 85% of that money sits in six states, including North Carolina.

Biden is making his first in-person campaign visit to North Carolina Wednesday since February.

President Trump is planning to make another stop in Charlotte on Thursday. President Trump has made in-person appearances a priority. Thursday will mark five visits in five weeks.
