RALEIGH, N.C. – House Bill 1105, the Coronavirus Relief Fund, has officially made its way to Gov. Roy Cooper’s desk.

Some of the big-ticket items of the bill include $21 million to help improve interconnectivity for students, and a payout of $335 to anyone with a child under the age of 18.

House and Senate leaders negotiated the bill over the weekend in order to have a fast session.

Rep. Donny Lambeth, a head budget writer in the state house, says the measure is a win for the state.

“This package does so much good for so many people, from Manteo to Murphy, to rural to urban, to the mountains to the coast,” Lambeth says.

HB 1105 passed in a vote of 104-10. The bill was previously passed in the Senate in a vote of 44-6.

A spokesperson for Cooper says while the measure does a lot, it could have gone further by expanding Medicaid, and that he will continue to review the bill.
