BOONE, N.C. – Rain fell in the mountains Tuesday along with strong winds, but the storms aren't over yet. The mountains are expected to see rain through Friday, which could lead to flooding and landslides throughout the area In Boone, some residents were getting an early start with preparations. On Adams Lane, residents were moving their vehicles out of their parking lot and into the street, away from the flood zone. Ashley Townsend lives in those apartments and says just weeks ago her vehicle had water spill in leaving behind mud and mold. Townsend says the foundation of her apartment was also damaged by the water. She is hoping for a better outcome with this storm. "The day after it flooded last time every one of us had fans in our cars trying to figure out what to do," Townsend says. Townsend says they are keeping an eye on creeks around their home in case the water gets too high, and they have to leave. |
