Rain will be arriving in the mountains as we head through the overnight and early morning hours Thursday. Charlotte could see some showers by the middle of the morning commute.
Our storm chances will ramp up as we head into the afternoon hours. There is a threat for severe storms that could produce large hail, damaging winds, and some tornadoes.
As of this post, there was some uncertainty as to the timing and placement for the severe storms. The current storm timing appears to be 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the later time being in our eastern counties. Please note that the timing may change, and this could unfold a bit slower.
Once this big complex system has crossed the area, we should see some improved sky conditions for Friday. Saturday will be another day for active storms. Given the time of year, if they do fire up, some severe storms will be possible.
