NORTH CAROLINA -- Teachers have turned to YouTube to teach and stay connected with their students during this worldwide pandemic.
First grade teacher Lexi Valentinas says she wanted to keep her classroom's upbeat and a positive learning environment, so she started creating YouTube videos for her students.
She said her class loves Disney music, so she made a song inspired by "Be Our Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast".
"I'm just trying to do what I know they like, and something fun for me to just change some lyrics and show them how I miss them in a unique way," emphasized Valentinas.
Dr. Shirley Disseler is teaching math with Legos for grades kindergarten through 8th grade because she says, who doesn't like Legos.
"This allows them to build with their hands and see the math, which is one of the important aspects of math that we are sometimes leaving out of the classroom due to time," explained Dr. Disseler.
Dr. Disseler said it's something students can do now while they're at home to enhance their developmental skills.
