CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- North Carolina hasn't issued a stay-at-home order yet but if it does, the only businesses and services that will remain open will be ones considered "essential."

An owner of a Charlotte UPS Store says they're considered essential because the company told him they provide "critical transportation services" according to Homeland Security.

"I believe people will be using our services because of these essential needs that we have from working from home," says UPS Store Charlotte store owner Atul Bhula.

New York state is already under a stay-at-home order. According to the state's website, there are a number of services that have stayed open because they're considered "essential." Those services include; hospitals, airports, gas stations, pharmacies, grocery stores, banks and restaurants and bars but only for take out and delivery.

While North Carolina is already closing a number of businesses, it has let some stay open.
