WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The University of North Carolina School of the Arts is working to reach its fundraising goal of $65 million by June of 2021.

It's the largest fundraiser in the school's history.

So far, the school has raised $62.2 million of the $65 million.

This comes after an anonymous $2 million gift from a alumnus of the school of music.

That brings to total alumni donations to $3.1 million.

The school's interim chancellor, Brian Cole, says that alone is an accomplishment.

The fundraiser will benefit five different areas of the school:

  1. scholarships
  2. faculty support
  3. innovation impacting curriculum
  4. living and learning environments
  5. community
