CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A NASCAR superstar will be at the Hall of Fame Wednesday in uptown to unveil his take on an iconic exhibit.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Glory Road Champions will open to the public. The exhibit has become one of the most recognizable parts of the Hall of Fame showcasing cars from NASCAR history.
The Hall of Fame asked Dale Jr. to curate a collection of cars of his choosing. He picked the theme of Premiere Series Champions. In addition to being able to see the cars from the outside, visitors can also get a peek inside through touch-screen kiosks.
"We have 360-degree views of every car. Even though guests can't climb onto Glory Road, they can look at these kiosks and widen the picture and look at every element inside each one of these historical cars," executive director Winston Kelley said.
Earnhardt Jr. was able to get the first and seventh championship car of all three seven-time NASCAR champions Richard Retty, Jimmie Johnson, and of course his father, Dale Earnhardt Senior.
