CONCORD, N.C. — According to the Concord Police Department, a bridge on Old Airport Road has been closed due to damage.

Police said in a Twitter post Friday, DOT officials surveyed the bridge, which is located between Setter Lane and Crestmont Drive, and determined it was "unsafe for traffic."

In an earlier post, police said the bridge was closed "indefinitely" to through traffic. The nature of the damage has not yet been released.

Drivers are urged to adhere to and refrain from driving around barricades. Detours are in place, and alternate routes are advised.
