CONOVER, N.C. — Authorities have charged three suspects accused of burglarizing a home on Christmas Eve.
- Alicia Stewart, Kenneth Herman, Christopher McCrary accused of burglarizing occupied home on Christmas Eve
- Neighbor reported the crime and provided descriptions of the suspects, which were quickly located
- Suspects face multiple larceny and drug-related charges
The crime was reported around 12:49 a.m. at a home on Springs Road. Catawba County deputies say a neighbor reported seeing three suspects, two men and a woman, forcing their way into a home and removing items from inside.
The Catawba County Sheriff's Office says two residents were asleep inside the home when the burglary took place but were not awakened until deputies arrived. No injuries were reported.
The neighbor provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle, deputies say, which was stopped about 15 minutes later on C&B Farm Road. Stolen items from the home, as well as an unspecified quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana were reportedly found during a search of the vehicle.

Stewart is charged with first degree burglary, larceny after breaking or entering, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.
Herman is charged with first degree burglary, larceny after breaking or entering, and injury to real property.
McCrary is charged with first degree burglary, larceny after breaking or entering, and possession of methamphetamine. He is also charged with resisting a public officer after authorities say he initially provided a false name to deputies. After a positive identification, deputies learned McCrary was also wanted on an outstanding indictment for larceny of a motor vehicle.
