WILMINGTON, N.C. – A new traffic shift will begin Thursday as crews continue working on the Military Cutoff Road Extension project, according to N.C. Department of Transportation news release.

The NCDOT said traffic will be shifted to a new ramp that connects Military Cutoff Road at Gordon Road and Military Road at Market Street.
The shift involves two lanes in each direction on Military Cutoff Road between Market Street and Gordon Road, and temporary traffic signals will be activated, according to the release.
The DOT said, the traffic shift will enable crews to build an overpass for the extension over Market Street. Construction is expected to be completed in 2022.
