BETHLEHEM, N.C. -- People from all over are heading up the mountain to visit a small town known as Bethlehem. Christmas is one of the most important times for this town, as they say it is their duty to remind people about the importance of Christmas.

The biggest draw to this town is their special stamp located at the post office. The stamp comes in two colors and allows customers to mark their Christmas cards as coming from Bethlehem.

On Saturday, thousands will join in as the iconic star is lit outside of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church. A star has been lit here since 1977, except in 2017 when a tornado took it down.

The town will also have a drive through at Fellowship Advent Christian Church, where you can drive in to what life was like before and after Jesus was born.

“We're just so thankful to be a part of a community that celebrates that and the birth of Christ and it's just um it's a wonderful thing," Bethlehem resident Brenda Austin said.

The drive through will begin on the December 13 and run until December 15.
