CHARLOTTE, N.C. โ€” The 2019 ACC Football Championship is coming to Charlotte this weekend, and events are scheduled to begin as early as Friday morning.

The championship game between the Clemson Tigers and the Virginia Cavaliers will take place Saturday, December 7 at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Events and initiatives will be taking place all over Charlotte in preparation for the big game. You can check out the full schedule below:

United Way/Extra Yard for Teachers School Visit

Date: Friday, Dec. 6

Time: Pep rally: 10 a.m. โ€“ 11 a.m.

Location: River Gate Elementary (15340 Smith Road, Charlotte, NC 28273)

Details: Three participating schools of the United Way Reading Challenge will come together to celebrate their achievements alongside ACC mascots.

FanFest

Dates/Times: Friday, Dec. 6 (5:00 p.m. โ€“ 9:00 p.m.) AND Saturday, Dec. 7 (10:00 a.m. โ€“ 6:30 a.m.)

Location: Charlotte Convention Center โ€“ Hall C (501 S College Street, Charlotte, NC 28202)

Details: Admission is free & open to the public. Fans attending FanFest can expect a fun football experience with half sized turf football field with a passing accuracy station and 40-yard dash, a field goal kicking station, gaming consoles, the Capital One Orange Bowl RV, CFP Extra Yard for Teachers bus, an ESPN set and ACC Football mega trophy for fans to capture photos, and more!

Night of Legends

Date: Friday, Dec. 6

Time: 7:00 p.m. โ€“ 9:00 p.m.

Location: Charlotte Convention Center โ€“ Crown Ballroom

Details: The ACC will formally recognize the 2019 regular season football award winners along with this yearโ€™s Legends class. Event hosts include ACC Networkโ€™s Kelsey Riggs, Mark Packer, and Wes Durham.

Fan 5K & Kidsโ€™ Mascot Fun Run

Date: Saturday, Dec. 7

Time: 8:00 a.m.

Location: Charlotte Convention Center/MLK Boulevard

Details: Join the ACC the morning of the big game for the annual ACC Fan 5K and Kids Mascot Run. Dress up in your favorite school colors and see if you can outrun your school's biggest rivals! Participants will receive a t-shirt and medal in their favorite ACC team colors. Fan 5K begins at 8 a.m. with the Kidsโ€™ Mascot Race to follow.

Kidsโ€™ Combine

Date: Saturday, Dec. 7

Time: 2:00 p.m. โ€“ 4:00 p.m.

Location: Charlotte Convention Center โ€“ Hall C (FanFest)

Details: At the 2019 ACC Football Kids' Combine, participants will be divided into age groups from 1st to 8th grade to compete in various skilled drills such as the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone drill, and QB distance toss. Top performers will win a prize and be recognized during the ACC Championship game on the video board. Registration includes entry to the combine, a ticket to the game, and a $20 Dicks Sporting Goods Bonus Certificate.

2019 ACC Football Championship Game

Date: Saturday, Dec. 7

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Bank of America Stadium (800 S Mint Street, Charlotte, NC 28202)

Details: The ACC Football Championship Game is a key game on the national landscape as the winner of the game has gone on to win three of the last six National Championships! Dream on 3

Date: Friday, Dec. 6 โ€“ Saturday, Dec. 7

Details: The ACC, in partnership with Dream on 3, will host special guest Zane at this yearโ€™s football championship.

CATS also announced on Thursday they will increase LYNX Blue Line light rail service on Saturday to accommodate riders attending the game in Uptown. Officials say the services will be increased for two hours before and after the game. Crews will be monitoring the amount of riders in order to adjust run times as needed.
