BOONE, N.C. — A man convicted of sex crimes involving children in 1999 and 2016 now faces more charges related to child pornography.

  • Joshua Clemons charged with nine counts related to child pornography.
  • Clemons was convicted on child sex related crimes in 1999 and 2016.

Police say Joshua Wayne Clemons, 39, was arrested Friday following an investigation by the Boone Police Department, Watauga County Sheriff's Office, and State Bureau of Investigation.

Clemons is charged with nine counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He has been placed under a $55,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 3, 2020.

Clemons is a registered sex offender. 

In December of 1999, information on the Sex Offender Registry shows Clemons was convicted of indecent liberties with a minor. The victim was reportedly 12 years old at the time.

Additional information shows Clemons was also convicted of sexual battery and assault on a female in October 2016 in Forsyth County. The victim in that case was also a minor.
