IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Additional charges have been filed on a homicide suspect arrested in Yadkin County Monday afternoon.
- Pierson Colbert, 23, arrested for murder in Northern Iredell County.
- Victim died in driveway from apparent head trauma.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office says Pierson Worth Colbert, 23, is now charged with Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Misdemeanor Attempted Breaking and Entering to a Residence, Misdemeanor Larceny, and Misdemeanor Assault on a Government Official.
On Monday, Colbert was charged with Murder and Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle following his arrest during a traffic stop in Yadkin County.
Colbert is charged in connection to a murder that happened around 5:00AM at a home on Indian Hill Road in Union Grove.
Deputies say 44-year-old Robert John Quinn died in the driveway from apparent head trauma after an altercation between he and the suspect.
According to a release from the Iredell County Sheriff's Office, witnesses say they were awakened by Colbert knocking on their door and telling them he and the victim “had gotten into it really big this time.”
Colbert reportedly fled the scene in an older model Nissan Sentra, which was later found abandonded on Zion Liberty Road.
At the time of his arrest, deputies say Colbert was driving a GMC pickup truck that was reported stolen from that same area.
Colbert received no bond for the charges related to Monday morning's murder.
