CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Thousands of runners will hit the streets of Uptown this Saturday for the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon.

The race will take place Saturday, November 16. Officials say more than 6,000 runners are expected to participate in the full marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 5K, and one-mile fun run events.

“We’re thrilled to have reached capacity for the marathon and the relay,” says Tim Rhodes, Race Director for the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon. “The support of the running community shows there’s clearly the desire to make room for more runners in this event.”

Registration for the half marathon, 5K, and fun run events will remain open until the end of the Health and Wellness Expo on November 15. Officials say the marathon and marathon relay are sold out, and registration will NOT be available on the day of the event.

All distances will start on Graham Street behind BB&T Ballpark and end on Mint Street in front of Romare Bearden Park.
