CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Wednesday's heat shattered records across North Carolina, where we hit a high of 99 degrees. This also marks the hottest temperature Charlotte has seen for the month of October on record. Thursday could be a tad warmer than that, putting our forecasted high of 100!

A cold front will move through Friday, but we will still be hot ahead of that, with highs in the mid 90s. The cold front will pass through as a dry front, with no rain expected Friday.

Finally, the cool down we've all been waiting for will come Saturday! Highs will drop into the low and mid 70s under mostly cloudy skies. Near-normal October temperatures are set to continue through the weekend and early next week, where another cold front passing through Monday will allow for another punch of cool air for the middle of next week.
