CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Millions of people face mandatory evacuation orders from Florida up to the Carolinas as Hurricane Dorian threatens the east coast.

While evacuees can try to stay with family, friends, or shelters, Airbnb is also stepping up to help.

Through September 16, Airbnb hosts are signing up for the Open Homes Program, giving evacuees a place to stay for free. It started with Hurricane Florence and now is reactivated for Dorian.
