CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- After four days straight of cooler than average conditions and a good amount of cloud cover, the "wedge" will finally break down Wednesday with the passage of a cold front. With the cold front set to move through the area during the afternoon, expect a few showers then an isolated chance for an afternoon storm or two. Are severe threat for Wednesday is very low. Clouds will continue to decrease with highs warming back to the mid 80s. Behind the front, high pressure moving in will bring a mostly clear, crisp night with temperatures expected to drop into the 50s and low 60s!
Thursday will bring back the sunshine with pleasantly low humidity! Dewpoints will be abnormally low -- in the low to mid 50s -- with highs in the low to mid 80s. Beautiful late summer conditions will continue into the start of the Labor Day weekend before storm chances increase heading into next week perhaps thanks to some tropical moisture associated with Dorian.
Dorian is a storm that we will need to continue to monitor as we head into the next several days as it heads towards the Bahamas and Florida. Stay tuned!
