Illustrator Wolly McNair says his daughter inspired him to draw a black comic book character based in a city inspired by Charlotte.

He's raising money to publish the comic book, “King Supreme,” and to pen more diversity.

“It's just, having people you can identify with and having the diversity, which has changed a lot more now, but the biggest thing for me is being an example that it can be done,” McNair says.
