NORTH CAROLINA -- Gov. Roy Cooper ordered all flags be lowered to half-staff Thursday to honor an NC Zoo worker who died last week.
Branson Langley, an arborist, fell 20-30 feet from a tree while performing an aerial rescue drill at the zoo.
The zoo temporarily closed Thursday after Langley's death, while investigators worked to determine the cause.
The North Carolina Zoological society established a trust fund to honor Langley's memory and provide support to his 9-year-old daughter, Maggie.
The flags are ordered to be at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
