LENOIR-RHYNE – Less than two months from the home opener, Lenoir-Rhyne University is making a big change to their football stadium.
- Lenoir-Rhyne is tearing down the home grandstands due to cracks in the seating.
- Moretz Stadium was built in 1920.
- The University will use private money to lease temporary seating.
The school will tear down the home grandstands because of safety concerns.
Engineers discovered cracks along the home team side seating that could be dangerous.
The university is leasing temporary seating, which will be ready before the first game in September.
Private money will pay for the demolition and temporary seating for this upcoming season.
