NEW BERN – The New Bern Police and Fire Departments are challenging you to come out and donate blood on Wednesday.

• The two departments are hosting a competition to see which department can receive more blood donations.
• The blood drive is at Knights of Columbus building on Pine Tree Drive from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Donors can vote for their favorite department and the winner will receive a trophy.

The two are holding a “Battle of the Badges” event, competing to see which department receives more blood donations.

The blood drive will take place at the Knights of Columbus building on Pine Tree Drive from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Donors can cast their vote for their favorite department and the winner will receive a trophy.

These battles helped to bring in nearly 300 donors across the community, saving 900 lives.
