The community is hosting a memorial run in honor of Trooper Kevin Conner, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop last October.
The run is a 5K and one-mile race Saturday, October 19. Race Director Anna Gore said this event is important to her and many other members of the community.
"My husband and I just wanted to do something for the Connor family, and just to show that, you know, people still remember him and that we still appreciate the sacrifices that he's made and that any law enforcement has made,” Gore said.
All proceeds from the run will go into a scholarship fund in memory of the fallen trooper.
