GREENSBORO, N.C. — Runners are taking advantage of the ever-growing trails and greenways in the city of Greensboro.

Crews are working to connect part of the Downtown Greenway at Smith and Prescott Street.
Runners say places like that offer them a way to run safely.
"Greensboro offers a lot of trails, a lot of greenway, a lot of paved greenway that takes you off the road and away from traffic. You have some safety running without having to cross a lot of roads and things like that, but it just gives you some shaded runs during the heat," said Tara Frame, Training Program Coordinator of Fleet Feet.
Greensboro has a number of running clubs and groups for all levels of fitness.
