FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity and Owens Corning contracting company came together on Monday to repair one Triangle veteran’s roof.

  • In 2016, the two NC companies formed a partnership
  • The goal is to help veterans repair their homes after suffering hurricane damage
  • So far they have successfully helped more than 130 military members

The project is assisting veterans repair their homes after Hurricane Florence shook the state last fall.

Veteran George Moore said he now has better protection over his head and has saved thousands of dollars.

Sue Sanzari, an Owens Corning manager, said this is the third time she's been involved with the project in the past year.

"It's been very exciting to be able to help veterans get back into their homes," Sanzari said.

Moore is one of over 130 military members the project has helped so far.
