WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Police are searching for a driver who told a crash victim "I don't care" when confronted about the incident.

  • Wilmington Police have obtained warrants for 36-year-old Rebecca Jane McArthur.
  • The victim told officers that May 29 he was in his car when McArthur struck him, causing about $1,100 in damage.
  • McArthur told the victim "I don't care" when he said he was calling the police, and drove off.

Wilmington Police have obtained warrants for 36-year-old Rebecca Jane McArthur, who backed into someone in the Cape Fear Community College parking lot.

The victim, who is also a CFCC student, told officers that May 29 he was in his car when McArthur hit him, causing about $1,100 in damage. She then jumped the curb trying to get away.

The victim was able to take pictures of McArthur's car before chasing her on foot. When he caught up to her at a light, he knocked on McArthur's window and told her she hit his car and he was calling the police. McArthur then responded "I don't care," and drove off.

McArthur is charged with hit and run leaving the scene with property damage and failure to see before backing.
