NORTH CAROLINA -- Governor Roy Cooper has ordered all U.S. and state flags at half staffed to honor the victims of the Virginia Beach shooting.
Flags will be half-staffed through Tuesday, June 4.
"We mourn for the people of Virginia Beach and their dedidcated public employees who must suffer from yet another senseless act of gun violence," said Gov. Roy Cooper. "We must keep fighting to do more to stop the carnage."
Twelve people are dead and six are injured after the shooting, which took place inside a city municipal building on May 31.
