Officials say a man barricaded himself inside a unit at the Aurora Station apartments off Sharon Road West early Thursday morning. Neighbors say they saw police running around the complex with guns drawn and were told to stay inside their apartments.
Some neighbors, who weren't home at the time, say they weren't allowed back inside the complex. A few parents had to go pick their children up from school because they say the bus would not drop the kids off at the complex.
Spectrum News spoke with one neighbor who said they were told the man involved had recently been released from custody and had made threats to his girlfriend.
However, police have yet to confirm this piece of information.
