Shelter officials say the biggest issue is people not spaying or neutering their animals.
And due to the time of the year, the situation could get worse. Which is why they're begging for help, so the pups can find forever homes.
"Please come to the shelter or go to our Facebook page and look at the dogs and cats that are available for adoption and come out here and visit with them,” said Janet Hart. “You might just fall in love with one of them, and realize that you can adopt and not shop as they say.”
The shelter charges $40 for dog adoptions and $20 for cat adoptions.
Those fees include vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, and a microchip.
