CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Elevator Queen is getting her own beer!

  • The Unknown Brewing Company in Charlotte is making a beer named for Cherie Berry.
  • Berry announced her retirement from labor commisioner earlier this month.
  • The beer will be flavored with cherries and berries.

The Unknown Brewing Company in Charlotte has announced they will be releasing a new brew at the end of the month called “Elevator Lady” after Labor Commissioner, Cherie Berry.

Berry recently announced her plans to retire.

The beer will be an ale kettle soured with cherries and berries.

The can art appears to be a play on the certificate seen in every North Carolina elevator.

In past years, Berry's immense popularity has been accredited to her presence in every elevator in the state, her seemingly rhyming name (SPOILER ALERT: Cherie is not pronounced like "Sherry"), and her parody twitter account.
