FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Skirting in by the skin of their teeth, SEGRA stadium opened to the public Saturday!
- Skepticism circulated as to whether the new Fayetteville baseball stadium would be ready in time for its first event Saturday.
- The stadium obtained its occupancy certificate and opened as plans.
- Some construction still needs completion.
The Woodpecker’s opening game isn’t until Thursday, April 18, but the city showed off the new stadium at an event Saturday.

The event faced skepticism earlier this week when it was brought to light that the city had not obtained a certificate of occupancy for the property.
However, with some exceptions, the stadium was able to open up this weekend and let locals take a look inside!
