CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Actress Kristen Bell has helped spark a "Christmas in October" for one West Charlotte teacher. Movement School's Jazzi Goode was on the celebrity's Instagram this week as a "10 Featured Teacher," including a link to her Amazon wishlist.
- Goode says she spends thousands of dollars on various supplies
- Boxes of books, tech and other goodies arrived from people all over the world
- Goode and her students say they are grateful for the random acts of kindness
"When I saw my face I was like, 'Oh my God it happened.' I was so excited for my kids," said Goode.
Hundreds of boxes of books, tech and other goodies arrived by the dozens from people all over the world. Goode said many items she received are to make her classroom feel "magical" and like "home." Pieces of literature feature Hispanic and black story lines.
"You can see a twinkle in their eyes because they can relate to whats on that page," Goode said. "We talked about how we have to respect the things we’re given and let people know we’re grateful."
The seemingly endless amount of boxes comes as a big relief to Goode, who says she spends up to $3,000 a year on various supplies. Goode and her students are thankful and grateful for the random acts of kindness.
