DURHAM, N.C. - The chefs behind Maverick's Smokehouse and Taproom aren't shy about their dedication to 'low and slow' cooked BBQ.
The restaurant has quickly become a favorite in Downtown Durham with it's prime location in the historic Brightleaf Square.
Maverick's is passionate about the 'Whole Hog BBQ Pork' and diners can see the detailed process as it roasts for hours on the expansive outdoor patio.
“We put a lot of time and effort into making sure we serve the best product possible on the plate,” said Fergus Bradley, owner of Maverick's Smokehouse and Taproom.
In addition to smoked pork, ribs, brisket, chicken, and fish, Maverick’s includes all the down home fixins' and sides you’d expect.
The most popular sides include classics like mac n' cheese, fried okra, and collard greens with a creative culinary twist, along with Maverick’s classic onion hushpuppies.
Bradley says the menu has something for everyone with its wide variety of Carolina, Memphis, and Texas style BBQ.
