CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- 5Church is introducing guests to artists.

“We really focus on local artisans [from] where we get our prodmenu huce, or our meats that we’re serving, to our decor,” 5Church co-owner Jamie Lynch said.

Locally-commissioned pieces cover the walls, make up the bar, and extend through the ceiling. A Charlotte artist painted the entire text of Sun Tzu’s ‘The Art of War’ on the ceiling.

“Everything in here has got some details and stuff that you need to look at,” Lynch said. Its newest artist is executive chef Whitney Thomas.

"We like to make sure the plates look as good as they taste,” Thomas said.

“Breathe in the experience. Don’t rush it,” Lynch said. “There’s a lot to see, a lot to experience, and have a great time.”

Specialty: Curry Roasted Chicken Breast; seared chicken breast with an apple celery root puree, braised apples, and pickled mustard seeds.
