The Adams administration officially has a new first deputy mayor.

Mayor Eric Adams made the announcement Thursday, naming attorney Randy Mastro for the role.

He was also Adams’ pick for the city’s top lawyer position last year, but was rejected after facing opposition from the City Council.

Mastro also served as deputy mayor under then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani in the 1990s, and he’s taking on the role as the mayor faces serious challenges — including record-low poll numbers.

He joined NY1’s Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss more.

“Well, you know, I’m a lawyer, not a politician, but this has a sense of déjà vu all over again. I’ve done this job back in the late ‘90s,” Mastro said. “I love this city. I want to see it succeed, so I’m answering the call.”
