As In Focus with Loretta Boniti continues to honor Black History Month, this week we take a look at Black communities in North Carolina.

Community, both in a figurative and literal sense, is strong throughout Black history. Here in North Carolina there are countless historic Black neighborhoods that have served as a haven for Black culture, businesses and more. More and more of those neighborhoods are being threatened by growth, but there are organizations dedicated to keeping them and their history alive.
