Incumbents running for Congress in North Carolina’s Triad region were projected to win reelection Tuesday night. Reps. Kathy Manning and Richard Hudson both won another term in the House.

Republican Dan Bishop was projected to be reelected to the U.S. House in North Carolina's 8th Congressional District and was also successful.

Manning, a Democrat who represents the 6th District, was projected to win with 53% of the vote. She beat Republican Christian Castelli and Libertarian Thomas Watercott.

Manning’s district includes Guilford and Rockingham counties and part of Forsyth.In the 9th District, Hudson was projected to win with 56% over Democrat Ben Clark. This will be Hudson’s 6th term in the House.

After the latest round of redistricting, the 9th Congressional District includes Asheboro, Pittsboro and south to Fort Bragg and Laurinburg.

Rep. Richard Hudson was projected to win his district with 56% of the vote.

Every member of the United States House of Representatives was up for election in the midterms. The balance of power in Congress was on the ballot, with Republicans hoping to get a majority in both the House and Senate.

Many expected a “red wave” in the midterm elections. By Wednesday morning, the country should know which party will control the House and Senate for the final two years of President Joe Biden’s term.
